I met a guy on holiday. We had a wonderful day swimming. The next day he passes by without saying hello. I approach him myself, invite him to swim. He says he’s afraid of water. So, he was making up different excuses for the whole holiday. And on the last day, I asked him why he never wanted to swim with me.
He smiled and told me the truth. He was not afraid of water, but he didn’t know how to swim and felt embarrassed. I told him that there was nothing to be ashamed of and that I could teach him. He agreed, and we went to the pool together.
At first, he was nervous, but after some practice, he started feeling more confident. We laughed a lot and had fun. By the end of the day, he could swim a little by himself. He was very happy and thanked me for helping him.
After that, we spent the rest of the holiday together. We played games, explored new places, and became good friends. I learned that sometimes people hide their fears because they are afraid of being judged. It was a holiday I will always remember because I made a new friend and helped him overcome his fear.
